Keys To The Wolf Den: Al Jefferson’s Charge Will Speak Volumes About Wolves
Posted: 28th February 2010 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a setback when the Timberwolves star Al Jefferson was arrested for a DWI, pending a court charge in April, and followed by a two-game suspension that will leave the Wolves without their leading scorer, and second leading rebounder.
"I want to apologize to the entire Timberwolves organization, owner Glen Taylor, my teammates, coaches and Wolves fans everywhere for my actions last night. I made a very poor ...
2010 Best Picture Nominees (Portland Trail Blazer Style)
Posted: 28th February 2010 by Busta Bucket in NBA
In honor of the Academy Awards on Sunday, I decided to take a look at the 10 movies up for Best Picture this year and give them a Portland Trail Blazer twist. I haven't had a chance to do a good movie poster photoshop post since last summer, so I had to take advantage of this Oscar time opportunity. Take a look...

Here’s a Thought: Analyzing the Seattle Mariners’ Bullpen
Posted: 28th February 2010 by Nathaniel Stoltz in MLB
I've already analyzed each AL West team's rotation. Now it's time to move on to bullpens.
First up is the Seattle Mariners.
Rather than mess with who is actually going to make the team, I'll just look at everyone who has a legitimate chance: six righties and four lefties.
In general, the back of the bullpen, and all six righties, is very solid. The lefties in the bullpen are far more questionable.Begin Slideshow
With the offense done now with the Combine, itÆs time to take a look at the defensive side of the ball, and today especially at the front seven. This day is most notably for seeing which defensive ends can make the transition because of their athleticism to play a 3-4 outside linebacker in the pros. Also, today we can find out which linebackers can drop back in coverage ...
Point: Yes, Mark Prior and Kerry Wood...enough said. Counterpoint: Dusty Baker killed their careers? P: Yes, it is well known that Baker cares little about pitch counts. CP: What about Carlos Zambrano? P: He has not been free of symptoms either. CP: Abuse happens but your criticism of Dusty Baker doesn't sound very scientific. P: Take a look at 2003. The Cubs had Prior, ...
Raiders Owner Al Davis Lookout: Day One and Day Two of the Combine (Satire)

This is what Al Davis had to say after watching the combine:
"Thank you for the press conference. The only players that I'm considering drafting with the 8th pick is Trent Williams, Bruce Campbell, CJ Spiller, Jacoby Ford, Jahvid Best and did I say Bruce Campbell? Being born in the '90s, I lose track. Now to questions.
Reporter: First off, Al, you're drooling, so I'd suggest a tissue! (A couple seconds later). ...
Duke of the Dash: James Madison’s NFL Prospects at the 2010 Combine
Posted: 28th February 2010 by Sara Hannon in NFL
The NFL Combine has started again, and you have your usual participants: Florida, LSU, Texas, Virginia Tech, etc. Basically, the I-A (I'm sorry "Football Bowl Subdivision") schools and a few stand-outs from the "Football Championship Subdivision" (I-AA) schools. Among those are two outstanding Dukes: DL Arthur Moats and OL Dorian Brooks.á
Brooks had his day, and placed as a top performer in the 20-yard shuttle, posting a time of 4.66, ...
Move Over Allen Iverson, Julius Peppers May be the New “Answer” in Philly
Posted: 28th February 2010 by Will Holt in NFL

Depth is certainly not an issue when it comes to defensive ends in the 2010 NFL Draft.
The only issue is there may be more questions instead of options.
And with uncertainties abound, the Philadelphia Eagles may be forced to sign Julius Peppers as early as Friday, March 5, the first day of free agency in the NFL.
It may sound like a quick decision, but the Eagles displayed that type of efficiency ...

I hope Boston Celtics fans arenÆt proud of the product they see on the floor every night. In fact, I hope deep down they are ashamed.
I say this as a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, of course, so let me get it out there right away. I understand that fans of other teams might hate mine.
LeBron can come off as annoying, Anderson Varejo must drive people crazy and I know Shaquille OÆNeal ...
Book Review: Satchel: The Life and Times of an American Legend, by Larry Tye
Posted: 28th February 2010 by Travis Nelson in MLB
"History binds Josh [Gibson] and Satchel at the hip as the two towering figures of the Negro Leagues, but nature left them as mismatched as yin and yang. Josh was a hitter who mashed pitches, Satchel a pitcher who undid batters. Josh's power emanated from his huge arms and torso, Satchel's from his string-bean legs. The differences, however, went deeper. Josh steered clear of the limelight. Satchel lived in and ...
