Just Because It’s Fantasy Doesn’t Mean It Hurts Less: A Tale of Pain
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by Preston Parker in NFL
*sigh* Despite a solid 177-155 win in one of my championship games, I sadly lost by two in a choke job only the Broncos could rival. In a format that totals your output from Weeks 16 and 17, I was leading by a score of 115 to 46 after last week, and thought I was in the driver's seat to a fantasy football title. Thinking I could ...
Oakland Raiders: Same Old Problems Haunt Raiders in Season Finale
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by David Wilson in NFL
The Oakland Raiders lost their final game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens today, and although they were competitive in the game, it was the same old problems that caused them to lose.
In many ways, this game summed up their season.
Firstly, the run defense was awful, allowing Baltimore 240 rushing yards and three touchdowns.á Oakland has been weak against the run ever since their Super Bowl appearance, especially between ...
Jimmy Howard Leads Red Wings into 2010 with Shocking Stats
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by Eric LaForge in NHL
It took me a while, but I'm finally able to say that I trust Jimmy Howard in the net. I wasn't too sure if he was what we needed for a while, but I can now say I'm glad we have him.
At the beginning of the season, I don't think many fans had confidence in Howard. In October, he had the league's worst save percentage and goals against average.
However, that ...
The Baltimore Ravens Are A Waste Of A Playoff Spot
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by Will Jefferson in NFL
Well, after losses to the Bears, Chiefs, Raiders, andáBrowns, it's hard for Steelers fans to argueáour teamáshould be in the playoffs.
If the Steelers had made the playoffs, you can bet AFC playoff teams would be leery. Wins over the Chargers, Vikings, Ravens, and Packers are an indication of how the Steelers fared against playoff-bound teams.
The Ravens, on the other hand, are another story.
Of course, as a Steeler fan, I hate ...
In case you haven't heard, the NFC Playoffs are set.á Among other highly anticipated and exciting matchups, the Green Bay Packers are marked down to again face the Arizona Cardinals next week in the first round of the Wild Card.
But that's next week. Today is the present and the Packers are just coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season over the Cardinals.
The final score was 33-7 ...

2010 NFL Draft Tight End Rankings
Jermaine Gresham (Oklahoma)
Height: 6-6
Weight: 260
40 Time: 4.64
Projected Round: Top 25
Gresham may be the only true, complete tight end entering the draft this year. He is a gifted athlete with NFL-size and soft hands to boot. He commands the middle of the field, effectively shielding the safety on post routes and extending his arms above the coverage and making the difficult catches.
ItÆs hard to compare Gresham ...
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Alex Smith’s Inconsistencies Continue
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by Andy Bensch in NFL
The final score looks great, the passer rating looks great, but the total package remains inconsistent.
While the San Francisco 49ers improved their record to 8-8áin whatáappeared to be a convincing victory whenálookingáat the 28-6 final score, their quarterback was once again mediocre.
Smith'sáfinal numbers, 17-28, 222 yards, one touchdown, zero interceptions, and a passer rating of 97.6 sound solid, yet his team was down 3-0 to the 1-14 ...
Miami Dolphins Fall Short of Playoffs, Lose to Pittsburgh Steelers
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by Chris J. Nelson in NFL
The Miami Dolphins' were unable to end their season on a high note, as the pieces failed to fall into place in Miami and around the league as the Dolphins lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers and fell short of the playoffs. The Dolphins, fresh off an 11-5 record and AFC East title in 2008, suffered a sophomore slump under Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano. Facing a much tougher ...
Raptors Report Week 10: Toronto Ends Week Beating a Contender
Posted: 3rd January 2010 by Sachin Arora in NBA
The Raptors had another good week, improving to 17-18. They have had many off days which has helped them quite a bit and have looked fresh out of the gate and have been keeping themselves in games.
This is the Raptors we have all been waiting for and things are only going to keep improving.á
Record: 2-1
Performance on a scale of 1-10: 7
Positives: The strong defensive play of the ...
