Support the Dallas Cowboys and Boycott Philadelphia Cream Cheese (Humor)
Posted: 5th January 2010 by Richard Zowie in NFL
Back in the 1990s, when the Dallas Cowboys made their runs at three Super Bowl victories, I remember the Cowboys faced the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional playoffs; the first time in the 1992-1993 season (they defeated Philly 34-10) and the second time in the 1994-1995 season (they defeated Philly 30-11).
I am absolutely convinced that the secret of the Cowboys' success, and the secret of their success on Friday, will ...
It was right around this time last year that speculation began to swirl about the future of Donovan McNabb.
Media members and fans alike believed that when McNabb strapped on the pads against the Cowboys in the final regular season game of the 2008 season it could be his last game as a Philadelphia Eagle.
The Eagles were fresh off a 10-3 loss to the Washington Redskins andáa shot at advancing into ...

Giants Sleepwalk Through Finale: Game Notes and Game Balls
Posted: 5th January 2010 by Richard Resch in NFL
*The game ball for the final game and for the season goes to Steve Smith. Eli Manning had a great season, and you could argue he should be the team's MVP (in fact, I'm sure most people would), and it's not a bad choice. But I'm going with Steve Smith, who broke the Giants' reception record with 107. He also had 1,220 yards, seven touchdowns and I'm ...
There has been a lot of talk about numerous team's decision to bench their starters and play their backups.
I do NOT agree with this decision.
The competitive integrity has been compromised, the fans are livid, and the opponents are embarrassed.
I am not saying that you have to play all of your starters, or even any of them, but give the fans a heads up that you wonÆt be playing them.
True, I ...
Mike Leach To The Oakland Raiders? A Pro-Con Debate (Humor)
Posted: 5th January 2010 by Ed Yevelev in NFL
Word around the campfire is that Mike Leach has drawn interest from the Silver and Black.
Here are some incredibly serious reasons for and against hiring the Mad Scientist:
Pros:
The arrival of a former (Red) Raider whoáis quirky and has aáfascination with pirates?áSomething tells me heÆllábe a fan favorite right away.
If Craig James ever wants to come after Leach, heÆll have to mess with the Black Hole first.
A Texas ...
I was eight-years-old when I attended my first Senators baseball game. It’s not like I wanted to or anything. But I was a fan of Channel five’s “Countdown Carnival” with Bill Gormley, and he asked me—through the television of course—to have a carnival for Muscular Dystrophy. We didn’t get anything for doing it and we didn’t get to keep the money.
But we did get tickets to Senators’ games. Lots and ...
The Impact of Maualuga’s Absence Shows in Cincinnati Bengals’ Defense
Posted: 5th January 2010 by Dan Parzych in NFL
The Cincinnati Bengals knew how much of an impact the absence of rookie linebacker Rey Maualuga would have on their defense, but they didn't realize it would be this bad.
Maualuga was placed on injured reserve after he broke his ankle in the Bengals 17-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs during Week 16. The injury could not have come at a worse time for a team making their first ...
Tonight marks the beginning of the second half of the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and if they are going to get going, now’s the time!
The Leafs host the pesky Florida Panthers tonight at the ACC; the teams are meeting for the second time this season.
The first battle between these teams was a high-scoring affair in which Toronto fell behind early—no surprise—but came back and won 6-4 during a ...
