The NFL Draft is kind of like the new Google mobile phone. A lot of build-up and then, pretty much, a letdown. In fact, just about every NFL draft is like that. I have no idea why it's such a big event.á
Of the 256 selections in the 2009 NFL Draft, there were perhaps seven rookies who were absolute stars and difference makers and another 20 or 25 were solid starters. ...
Let the games begin! With three of the four Wildcard match ups a repeat of week 17, don't expect the same result (sorry Jets fans).
The stakes are higher the adrenaline will be flowing. There should be four very entertaining games starting this Saturday.
Can Arizona repeat it's run again this year?
Can the Cowboys beat the Eagles three times in one season?
Will the Jets look a gift horse in the mouth?
Is ...
Keeping Lovie Smith With Bears Not a Bad Decision…Yet
Posted: 6th January 2010 by Francisco E. Velazquez in NFL
The time has come for changes with the Chicago Bears. Everyone knows that. In fact, it is my personal belief that Ron Turner should not have been allowed in a booth with a Chicago Bears headset for two, perhaps three, years now.
The sorry performance by the offense in Super Bowl XLI was the last straw. In my mind, Turner had to go. Lovie had to stay.
It's been three years and ...

How Arenas’ Suspension Could Shake Up the Rest of the League
Posted: 6th January 2010 by Eric Felkey in NBA
By now you all know that Washington Wizards' guard Gilbert Arenas has been suspended indefinitely by the NBA.
Arenas, in year two of a six-year, $111 million contract, has been the subject of scrutiny in the media for bringing four unloaded guns into the Verizon Center last week.
I'm not here to judge Arenas, or to defend his inexplicable actions.
Instead, his indefinite suspension raises an already lingering question: Where will the Wizards ...
What Wizards Guard Gilbert Arenas Looks Like to a British Soccer Fan
Posted: 6th January 2010 by Yoosof Farah in NBA
News thatáWashington Wizardságuard Gilbert Arenas has been indefinitely suspended from the NBA is creeping its way across the Atlantic and over to mainstream media in England.
The UK nationalánewspapers are now starting to cover the story that Arenas brought three guns to his locker at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., using them in a "misguided effort to play a joke" on his teammate Javaris Crittenton.
Now it appears this poor attempt ...
The AFC Wild Card From a San Diego Chargers’ Perspective
Posted: 6th January 2010 by Paul Preibisius in NFL
Earning a first-round bye with the second seed, San Diego will be sitting out the first round of the playoffs. This does not mean they wonÆt have a stake in what happens in that round. Depending on how the games play out, they could potentially face three of the four teams that will be playing in that wild card round.
Ironically, the lone team they cannot face in the divisional ...
Well hereáwe are heading into the second half of the season and all looks promising. You have Louie playing at the top of his game, scoring coming from two lines and sometimes the third line, and Henrik Sedin making a push to win the scoring title.
Can you believe Hank! What a season so far.
As I mentioned several articles ago, during that eight game home stand, I thought the Canucks needed ...

Behold the glory of Reincarnation Weekend!á
With three of this weekendÆs four wild-card games being repeats of week 17Æs action, games played only one week ago rise again in the spotlight of the NFL playoffs.
The stakes are higher and the matchups more intriguing.á
The vanilla play-calling of teams hiding their potential will be swept aside as they showcase their full arsenal of players and array of strategic gadgetry.
However, the dubbing of ...
For Jayson Williams, Idle Time and Money Is a Recipe For Disaster
Posted: 6th January 2010 by Chris Lane in NBA
Former NBA player Jayson Williams is back in the limelight.
Unfortunately for Williams, it is due to another notch on his belt of legal woes.
Early Tuesday morning, Williams drove his SUV into a tree off of a Manhattan road, and was later charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).
Since the notorious incident at his New Jersey home in February of 2002, Williams has had three run ins with the law, all of ...
