New Jersey came into the United Center on Thursday night with a 13-1-1 record on the road, the best in the Eastern Conference. They were 11-3-0 in December, and shut out the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night. The Devils had the best record in the Eastern Conference. However, the Blackhawks owned the Devils on New YearÆs Eve, winning 5-1. From start to finish, the Blackhawks dominated every aspect ...

There were 69 starting pitchers from the 1960s who pitched in at least 200 games. If a player does not appear on the list of the 69 eligible players list, then they either didnÆt reach 200 games or I consider them a pitcher from the 1950s or the 1970s. The 1950s will be covered in a separate article, and I just wrote an article on the 10 best starting pitchers from the ...

Before we begin, I just wanted to wish you and your families a very happy and prosperous New Year. The dropping of the ball in Times Square always leads to renewed hope. The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the few teams that will have enough money to sign a big free agent coming up this offseason. Preferring not to dive into numbers, David Kahn has made it clear with the Alando Tucker trade, that he is capable of making moves that can only help positively from this point. Many NBA fans questioned why would a GM take two point guards back to back in ...

Below are five of my predictions for 2010 in the world of Major League Baseball. No. 5: 20 Wins ...

Happy New Year to you and yours! One game left, and a whole pile of questions greet Cleveland Browns fans in the New Year. á Derek Anderson has one game left to impress Mike Holmgren enough to be kept around for one more year, but even a 300-plus yard performance probably wonÆt be enough for Anderson to wear brown and orange another year. á ItÆs not a bad or a good thing. ItÆs a ...

Posted: 1st January 2010 by Tom Dougherty in MLB
The Philadelphia Phillies have signed Danys Baez to a two-year contract pending his physical, which is expected to take place next week. Baez, 32, went 4-6 with a 4.02 earned run average in 59 relief appearances with the Baltimore Orioles last year. The addition of Baez means that the Phillies will not re-sign Chan Ho Park as the right-handed Cuban will replace Park as a late inning reliever for Philadelphia. For more Philadelphia ...
