Just in time for New Year’s Eve, the NBA released its most up-to-date 2010 All-Star voting results . And I’d like to think the results were a surprise. But sadly, they were not.
For the most part, the NBA has the concept of fans voting for the starting All-Stars nailed down pretty well. Usually the best guards, forwards, and centers do get the most votes. Fans usually do get to see ...
Over the last few years, I have been really impressed with Roger Goodell and David Stern as they have revamped the images of the NFL and the NBA, respectively.
In each league, drastic changes to conduct rules have helped athletes to become more positive role models, while weeding out the lesser ones.
However, neither league is without its idiots. Much like the Plaxico Burress in the, "Oops I shot myself" incident, Gilbert ...
The 2009 Fantasy Football season has come, or is about to come, to an unfortunate end. Fantasy owners everywhere will soon come to the grim realization that the next fantasy football season is 6-8 months away. I too have encountered this unwelcoming truth and am attempting to remedy the situation.
There is no better way to say goodbye to the 2009 season than by ...
This season did not end well for the New York Giants. After a hot 5-0 start against mediocre teams, the Giants have won just three of their last ten games, are eliminated from playoff contention, and are entering a meaningless game with Minnesota on Sunday.
This may be a bit preemptive since the season has not officially ended for Big Blue, but it's all we have right now.
The following is my ...
Lakers-Kings: Kobe Bryant Saves Lackluster Los Angeles
Posted: 2nd January 2010 by John Engel in NBA
Superman’s was Lex Luthor, Batman’s was the Joker, Spiderman’s was the Green Goblin, and the Los Angeles Lakers’ arch enemy has proven to be the unlikely Kings early in the 2009-2010 season.
Similar to these heroes, the Lakers seem to always find a way to prevail over their opponent.
This time, Los Angeles needed a last second three by their personal superhero, Kobe Bryant, to defeat their nemesis.
The Kings visited Los Angeles following a devastating ...
There was no wrap-up this week, so here are recaps of Week 16's most important games:
Where were the Dolphins during the first half of their game against Houston? How can you come out as flat as they did, at home, in an elimination game? Going down 27-0 as early as they did is almost impossible to come back from and as a result, they'll be reduced to the spoiler role ...
NHL Western Conference Power Rankings: Happy New Year Edition
Posted: 2nd January 2010 by TAB BAMFORD in NHL
It's time, once again, to consider how the powers that be align in the Western Conference.
Since I last ranked the Western Conference, a number of things have changed in the Conference that have impacted my rankings. We've officially learned who will be playing in Vancouver for their respective countries, and injuries have continued to hit the Detroit Red Wings (and others, but mostly Detroit).
So let's take a look at ...

Here’s a Thought: Underrated Prospect–Minnesota’s Josmil Pinto
Posted: 2nd January 2010 by Nathaniel Stoltz in MLB
While my bio claims that I know about 2000 players currently in affiliated baseball (and I stand by that claim), my knowledge begins to fracture as you get lower and lower in the minors.
I have a decent sense of almost everyone in Triple-A and a good amount of Double-A, but particularly when you get to Low-A and short-season leagues, all I know are top prospects, high draft picks, and A's ...
Oakland Raiders And The Blame Game: Cable, Davis or Russell?
Posted: 2nd January 2010 by Raider Card Addict in NFL
When looking around the media these last few weeks, there has been a lot of blaming going on. A lot of what ifs, if onlys, and a share of maybes, that do nobody any good.
If only we pulled JaMarcus Russell. If only we have Gruden back. If only Al Davis fell off the planet. The list goes on.
Some blame it on previous events, such as the constant switching of coaches, ...
