At the end of last season, the Nashville Predators were the only team in the Central on the outside looking in at the playoffs. While their top scorer only accumulated 65 points on the season, the Preds were just edged out of a playoff spot. Unfortunately this season they will be taking a step back.

When the Miami Dolphins began the 2008 season 0-2, it was in Week Three they broke out with a huge win against the New England Patriots and eventually turned their season around.
Things did not go that way this time around, as the Dolphins fell to 0-3 with an ugly 23-13 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
The Dolphins were hit hard beyond the game as well, with ESPN's Chris Mortensen reporting ...

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.ùEagles third year quarterback Kevin Kolb said he is actively looking into starting his own illegal, interstate dog-fighting ring, right after he and the Eagles trounced the Kansas City Chiefs, 34-14. ôIÆm first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 300 yards (or more) in his first two starts and IÆm like the fourth or fifth guy on the podium, ô Kolb noted.á ôI guess I gotta get with ...
Every organization on a grand quest faces a crisis. The ones that face it down and chew it up, go on to great things.
Let's be frank, weáembarrassed ourselves in Detroit (Yes, I'm a "we" fan). Now, players and coachesásurely look in the mirroráquestioning their confidence. The 'Skins season is now at stake and team can go in any direction; most likely, the wrong one.
The time has now come for leadership ...

Indianapolis Colts Week Three: The Good, The Great, and The Pretty

I normally style my weekly review of Colts action as a reference to the famous Clint Eastwood Western "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly," because normally, even in victory, there are some good and bad things to review.á But after the Colts' dominating win against a very good Arizona Cardinals team, it behooves me to alter the title slightly.á Here are some notes from Sunday's action:

Goodbyes tend to be hard.á
There is something about a reneged commitment that instantly creates a mixture of awkwardness and tension amongst two once-agreeable parties.
This off-season, Bay Area hockey fans were forced to say sayonara to several signature players who grew up within the Sharks organization and captured their hearts with a season or two of amazing play. á
In my mind, giving these guys the old heave-ho couldnÆt have happened a ...

Posted: 28th September 2009 by Tom Au in MLB
A series against the cellar-dwelling Pittsburgh Pirates was supposed to be the "last stop" for the Los Angeles Dodges in clinching their division, right? Not so fast, when it is in Pittsburghùas the New York Mets found out in 2006.
Having beaten the division-leading Mets 3-0 at home in mid-September three years ago, the Pirates won their final homestand 3-1 against the Dodgers in 2009.

NFL: With All Due Respect, Mike Florio Writes Pure Fiction About Randy Moss
Posted: 28th September 2009 by Stew Winkel in NFL
When it comes to journalism in this Internet era, there should still exist a difference between opinion pieces and stories fabricated out of thin air.á That difference, however, apparently matters little to Mike Florio or NBC Sports.
It is really my own fault for reading the web site. Florio runs profootballtalk.com which, as of recently, is part of NBC Sports.á
And it appears Florio, a notorious spreader of baseless rumors in my ...
