With One Fell Swoop, the Season Ends For the Atlanta Braves
Posted: 30th September 2009 by Cameron Britt in MLB
To think, Braves fans had it all two days ago.
The Braves were on fire, the Rox were, to an extent, scuffling, and they sat only two games back.
An unlikely series of events would still have to occur. But, hey, we were believers.
Then, Cameron Maybin, Dan Uggla, Josh Johnson, and Jorge Cantu happened.
Later that night, Chris Iannetta happened.
No biggie. Still only three games.
It'll be a little harder, but it's still possible.
We ...

Let the public media frenzy over LeBron's free agency begin. Really, it already began last season, but this is his final season before his contract is up.áCleveland went all or nothing, signing Shaq as a quick fix. Let's see if it works.
Every team in need of a superstar is shedding payroll to make a hard push to obtain James. With Cleveland being a contender, it's going to take a strong, ...

John Tavares: 50MC’s 2009-2010 Fearless Fantasy Forecast

I will use the finale of this yearÆs version of Fearless Fantasy Forecast on the 2009 No. 1 overall pick in the NHL draft and arguably the most anticipated prospect in the NHL since Sidney Crosby.
In four seasons in the OHL, he accumulated 433 points, including 215 goalsùmore than Wayne Gretzky. He has led Team Canada to two World Junior Championship gold medals.
Of course, I am talking about John Tavares.

After leaving last night's game against the Houston Astros with an injury, it has been revealed that Jamie Moyer will be out for the rest of the season.
The 46-year-old pitcher tore a groin after making a pitch last night. He will have surgery at some time next week.
He will be ready for spring training next season.
After losing his job in the starting rotation in August to Pedro Martinez, Moyer has ...
Michael Vick killed dogs. Michael Vick tortured and killed dogs. Michael Vick endorsed the torture and killing of dogs. Michael Vick is a despicable human being for having done all of the above...Period.Today, Nike showed that character means nothing where the business model is concerned by resigning him to an endorsement deal. After having a fairly easy time ranking the catchers on the teams contending for playoff spots yesterday, I had to spend a lot more time on the first basemen that are potentially playoff-bound.á The thing that makes it so difficult is that none of these teams has a particularly weak 1B.á They all have shown that they can lead their respective teams, and all are proficient on offense and defense. ...
As you may know by now, the Miami Dolphins' starting quarterback Chad Pennington is out for the season because of a shoulder injury sustained against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. So, I feel like I should analyze the Dolphins' "new" quarterback situation.
The most likely starter is quarterback Chad Henne, who played excellently in college for Michigan. Henne has a strong arm and has been studying under Pennington long enough ...
In my previous article I previewed the Raptors' upcoming season, and in that article I briefly touched on the potential of CB4 returning to Toronto. In this article I would like to further elaborate on this and discuss whether or not the Raptors' franchise player will return.
With training camps underway, the main question swirling around Toronto is and probably will be for the whole season: Will Bosh be ...
Does Justin Maxwell Have The Time & Talent to Become a Starter In D.C.?
Posted: 30th September 2009 by Farid Rushdi in MLB
Francisco Rodriguez has been a premier closer (perhaps the premier closer) in all of baseball over the last six years.áSince 2004, "K Rod" has saved 206 games and crafted a stunning 2.20 ERA during that span.
Justin Maxwell has shown flashes of brilliance around his periods of ineptness, but hasn't indicated any real ability to become an everyday major leaguer.
Since being recalled from "AA" Harrisburg in 2007, Maxwell has a 162-game ...
